8 Proven Ways To Grow Your Social Media

Social networks hold a lot of potential for personal brands and small businesses - after all, they offer free marketing opportunities and allow the client and customer interactivity on a large scale.


In this blog post, we're going to look at how you can stand out and grow on your social media platforms. By the end of it, you'll have the knowledge you need to build a massive audience on social media, so you can start marketing your brand or business effectively.


So how can you grow and stand out on your social media in the digital noise? Here are 8 proven ways that will help:



1. Focus on Quality vs Quantity


Posting high-quality content is still the number one way to grow on social media. Make sure all your posts are well thought out. You're better off spending more time creating a post and having it perform better than rushing and creating multiple posts that are lower quality and don't perform well. Use your time wisely!





2. Post consistently


You've probably heard this one before but there is a reason why marketers like myself always say this. Posting consistently is the key to growing on social media and gaining more followers organically. If you're only posting once every week or even every few days your audience could easily forget you. Pick a schedule and stick to it - and don't forget how important it is to post at the best times of day for your audience. 2. Write engaging captions


Use emotional and powerful words in your captions to capture your audience's attention. People are more likely to engage with your post if your caption makes them feel something. At the end of your caption include an enticing call-to-action. Whether its asking a question to provoke conversation in the comments or directing your audience to your website. The longer you keep your audiences eyeballs on your post the better it will perform in the algorithm!




3. Have an interesting bio


Make sure your profile is as appealing as possible - use a nice photo, write an original description that highlights your business or how-to's, and don't forget your website! The more you stand out from the crowd, the more people will be inclined to come to check you out. You have to give people a reason to want to follow you once they land on your page and your bio.



4. Start using short-form video


Tiktok and Instagram reels are a great way to gain more exposure and grow your social media accounts. Right now these two social media apps have the biggest potential for organic growth and virality. Video content is among the most engaging on social media, so take advantage of it. Plus, you have to admit how cool Instagram reels are!

5. Interact with your audience


Social media is all about engagement - how well you engage determines how strong your social presence will be. Use social media to interact with people in your industry who are in your niche and genuinely interested in what you do. This way, they'll be more inclined to check your profile out. Don't just use this for promotion though, as it can turn your followers off if done too often. Another great way to interact with your audience is to try and reply to as many comments on each of your posts as possible and don't be afraid to comment on your audience's posts, the trick is to leave genuine comments.




6. Be a thought leader in your industry


Being a thought leader is great for how it can work to grow your social media presence in the long term. If people in and around your trade start seeing you as an industry expert, then naturally they'll want to check out what you're doing and stay updated with how you're moving forward. When you are passionate about what you do and when post about the things that bring you joy, naturally that energy will come across through your social media and people will be interested to see or read your posts.




7. Be authentic in how you portray yourself or your brand


People trust authenticity, and they will want to be more involved with what you do on social media if that's how it comes across. Don't force how you represent your business or how it looks on social media - let the branding follow naturally through consistent updates, how you talk about your business and how you engage with people.


Though it may take time, using these tips to grow your social media presence can be very rewarding - just remember not to spam out content or hashtags, as that will have the opposite effect of what you want!





8. Be patient


I'll be completely honest, it isn't easy to grow on social media and you won't be an overnight success. This is why it's incredibly important to be patient. Don't give up if you don't see results right away, just keep tweaking your content and double down on your best performing content, and over time the results will come!

Your social media content is one of the most important aspects of your marketing efforts. You’ve got to have a captivating bio, an interesting profile picture, and be posting high-quality content while engaging with your audience for it to all work together.
